2025 Blissful Rentals Short Film Contest

Overview

Blissful Rentals is proud to support emerging filmmakers in Los Angeles by offering five winners a full camera equipment rental package free of charge for one weekend (Friday afternoon to Monday morning).

Eligibility & Requirements

Location: All projects must be filmed within Los Angeles County.

Funding: Participants, if selected as winners, must demonstrate that their film is fully funded. Acceptable proof includes:

- Statement showing secured funds, or

- Agreements/confirmations for donated/free locations, services, or resources.

Crew Requirement: Each production must hire a camera assistant appointed by Blissful Rentals to ensure proper use of the camera equipment rental.

Insurance: Valid production equipment insurance coverage must be presented at pickup before the first day of production.

Submission Materials

To participate in this film contest, contestants must submit the following by September 30, 2025:

- Script (maximum 15 pages)

- Budget

- Project Summary (1 page) including:

  - Description of the project

  - Attached personnel (actors, director, producers, etc.)

Selection & Prizes

Five (5) projects will be selected as winners. Winners will receive a free weekend rental package of professional camera equipment. Rental dates are Friday afternoon to Monday morning, to be scheduled with Blissful Rentals.

Production Timeline

Winners will be announced on October 15, 2025. 

Production must begin within 4 months of the announcement. 

Final shooting dates must be coordinated with Blissful Rentals to reserve equipment availability.

Terms

Only complete submissions that meet the eligibility requirements will be considered. 

Blissful Rentals reserves the right to verify submitted information, including funding and insurance. 

Failure to comply with requirements may result in disqualification.

All rights to the material remain with the entrant, whether they are winners or not.
